The Corona Phenomenon and all else that follows

And the Senate had cast their votes: Chief Justice Renato C. Corona is charged GUILTY: on accounts of betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Constitution for non-disclosure of his Statements, Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).

I feel good when people opt to give their stand; fight and braved for it on issues such as this one. It automatically ignites my better self as a Filipino. More than anything else, it promotes the essence of patriotism and altruism. It takes pride and contentment when voicing out something that comes from yourself most likely when it's about your nation. The emblem of nationalism is being highly-raised when people give their sacred views, whether for or against, but by bottom line speak nothing except for the welfare of the whole country in general. I strongly agree that by brandishing your opinions means you care for your homeland - your beloved state which dictates, taints and gives identity to your precious character.

The impeachment trial had taught me to think more critical and analyze arguments professionally, if not on a lawful manner. At the very least, it had honed my social obligation as keen observer of the society. As a sociology major graduate and a news personnel, it helped me in applying the virtues of non-partisanship and equality on my stint. The force of sociological imagination had been my guardian; thinking out of the box, viewing various perspectives in different angles, and weigh and give value to all of it.

Higher than the verdict, anybody can claim that all of us are concern of what implications it would cause our country and the positive outcomes to gain from. With former Pres. Arroyo now in jail, Merciditas Gutierrez resigned from the ombudsman post and now Mr. Corona had just been ousted from the helm of Supreme Court, I exaggeratedly believe that the current administration owe us genuine and REAL developmental change and progress which each and every citizen of this archipelago are longing for. The predicament of those individuals mentioned above perhaps provide a leeway to a more transparent, clean and honest execution on the national affairs of government. So I guess from here, maybe we can expect the beginning of something much better, such a socio-political asylum will transpire.

And again, as elections are coming real soon in just a short while and I'm mandated by my job to held and observe it, I encourage each and every Filipino individual to contemplate on the candidates - know them like a deep well and vote wisely!
