So long Bamboo, much has been said.

What a heart-wrenching grief for us Bamboo fans! Dubbed as the Rage Against the Machine (RATM) band of the Philippines, the highest paid musical group just called it quits. Although I’m still clueless regarding what happened, it was already announced as “official” in a radio station that the band disbanded today. Up until now, I’m still praying that it was only a bad joke. Tomorrow, all speculations shall diminished as they would break the ice in public.

To describe them in general (based on my own perspective), Bamboo’s impeccable music is way beyond the standards of a typical OPM band. Certainly, everybody would agree if I say that their caliber of music is world-class. Their Hadelic genre is so original that it encompasses other various types of musical genres. The lyrics inclined in every song they had made had its strong and straight forward message to its subject. From love, to nationalistic theme of songs, the band just proved how versatile they are when it comes to song writing. The quickness and showmanship of Vic Mercado; the creative, smooth-sailing riffs of Ira Cruz; the grovvy bass touch of Natan Azarcon; And of course, the uniqueness, catchy and cozy voice of Bamboo Manalac make the band the most perfectly combined musically-fit individuals.

As a music enthusiast, I’m deeply saddened by their departure. They're one of the major reason why I (together with my band mates) decided to further enhance and bring out the best of our musical talents in us. Together with E-heads, Juan dela Cruz and the like, Bamboo shall be remembered as one of the phenomenal OPM bands ever to rock and give meaning to each and every life of OPM music lovers.

My sincere gratitude and deepest thanks for being an inspiration. Your loss is our loss. Surely, you’ll be missed.

Musically yours,
